Frequently Asked Questions
- When will I start to notice results?
- The artificial tan takes 2 to 4 hours to begin appearing on the skin surface, and will continue to darken for up to 24 hours. If your technician uses a solution with Bronzer in it you will have some color right away. However this is strictly cosmetic and does not affect the outcome of your tan!
- How long will my airbrush tan last?
- On average 5-10 days depending on your preparation before your tan and how well you take care of it after.
- How can I get my airbrush tan to last longer?
- There are some tricks to extending the life of your Airbrush tan. Staying hydrated is the key! But be careful what you use. Certain lotions and body washes that contain a lot of dyes, perfumes or oils can strip the color faster. It is recommended that you use an extender. An extender provides extra hydration to the skin and it also contains DHA which will add an extra 3-4 days to your tan.

- What is DHA?
- DHA(Dihydroxyacetone) is a colorless sugar that interacts with the dead cells located in the stratum corneum of the epidermis. As the sugar interacts with the dead skin cells, a color change occurs. DHA does not damage the skin, and is considered a safe skin coloring agent and nutritional supplement. DHA has been approved for cosmetic use by the FDA. DHA-based sunless tanning has been recommended by The Skin Cancer Foundation, American Academy of Dermatology Association, Canadian Dermatology Association and the American Medical Association.
